The postcard I sent to Germany was registered today. It took 16 days to get there and traveled 4,356 km.

Postcard #52 - BELARUS



My 3rd postcard today is from Minsk, Belarus. This is also the 3rd postcard I have gotten from Minsk. The card shows 5 photos from Minsk: a view of the city at night, Independence Square, Station Square "Gates of Minsk", the general post office and Trinity Suburb. There is one stamp on the back of a European Pine Marten, Martes martes. It took 15 days to get here and traveled 5,531 km.

Postcard #51 - CHINA




I also got this nice postcard from China showing buildings in Beijing. There are 5 stamps on the back, all very nice ones. One is printed on the postcard and shows an ox (possibly the year of the ox), another shows the globe with a tree, another shows some Chinese men near a tree and the other 2 show Shangri-La. The postcard took 24 days to get here and traveled a distance of 12,127 km.

Postcard #50 - Spain



I got 3 postcards today! This one is from Spain, my first postcard from that country. The man who sent it to me wrote a lot on the back about where he lives. The postcard is from Malaga on the "Costa del Sol" or "Sun Coast" in southern Spain. The postcard shows the lighthouse (La Farola) and a church with only one belfry which locals call "La Manquita" (one-handed). There are 3 stamps on the back, two of  King Juan Carlos I and one which shows the Royal Decree of Maritime Post (Real Ordenanza del Correo Marítimo) which regulated postal communications between Spain and its overseas domains during the last third of the XVIII century. The postcard took 31 days to get here and traveled a distance of 4,093 km.

Postcard #49 - TAIWAN



I also got a postcard from Taiwan today. The person who sent me the postcard took the photo himself. It is a Japanese temple, taken on his recent vacation there. There are 2 stamps on the back, both showing birds.The postcard took 21 days to get here and traveled a distance of  11,957 km.

Postcard #48 - GERMANY




I got 2 postcards today. One was from Germany and shows the city of Marburg. There are a lot of buildings in the photo and also St. Mary's Lutheran church which is known for its crooked spire. There is one stamp on the back, the same stamp that was on the last postcard I received from Germany. The sender also had several stickers on the back and this recipe which she had glued on. The recipe looks good,  might try it! The postcard took 11 days to get here and traveled a distance of 4,362 km.

Postcard #47 - GERMANY



I got a postcard from Germany today of an Australian parrot, Crimson Rosella. There is one stamp on the back that says Altstadt Regensburg and shows a church. Regensburg is a city in Bavaria, Germany, and the old city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  The postcard only took 9 days to get here and traveled a distance of  4,206 km.

Sent Postcard #62 - ROMANIA


The last of my extra 6 postcards (because of Postcrossing's 6th birthday) is going to Romania. I have never sent to or received from Romania before. The card is going to a young couple and I thought that this postcard of George Street would be interesting to them. Postage to Romania costs $1.75.

Sent Postcard #61 - FINLAND


My 61st postcard is going to Finland. She lists animal postcards as her favourite so I picked this postcard showing different Canadian animals.Postage to Finland is $1.75.

Sent Postcard #60 - BELARUS


Postcard #60 is going to a woman in Belarus who likes postcards of children, babies, fairies, elves and fantasy cards. Even though the postcard I have chosen to send her is a Valentine's card it is the closest I have to her wishes. Postage to Belarus costs $1.75.

Sent Postcard #59 - NORWAY


My 59th postcard is going to Norway. This is the first time I have sent one there. The person I am sending to wants to see viewcards so I chose this card that shows downtown St. John's and the harbour. Postage to Norway costs $1.75.

Sent Postcard #58 - GERMANY


Postcard #58 is going to a man in Germany. I chose this postcard of Cabot Tower. Postage to Germany costs $1.75.

Sent Postcard #57 - CHINA


Postcrossing is 6 years old today so as a gift to all postcrossing members we can send 6 extra cards but just today. The first address I was given is for a young man in China. He likes all types of postcards so I am sending this card of a moose. Postage to China is $1.75.

Postcard #46 - USA



I got a postcard from New York, USA today. It's  a photo of the Empire State Building. I was thrilled to get it because we went to the top of the Empire State Building when we visited NYC a couple of years ago. There is 1 stamp on the back of a lake and mountains. In fact it's the same stamp I used to send a postcard to myself when I was in Las Vegas last year. It cost 98¢ to send it, it took 16 days to get here and traveled  1,863 km.

Postcard #45 - POLAND



I also got a postcard from Poland. It has 4 photos that show different statues in the town of Torun. The sender told me that if you touch the dog's ear your dreams will come true.....you can see on the photo that the dog's ear is shiny, I bet a lot of people have rubbed that ear over time. There are 2 stamps on the back, 1 showing All Saints Collegiate Church in Sieradz and another of a manor house. The postcard took 15 days to get here and traveled a distance of 4,902 km.

Postcard #44 - RUSSIA



I got 2 postcards today. This one from Russia shows a lot of different pictures of the Kremlin and Saint Basil's Cathedral. I really like it. There are 3 stamps on the back. One is of the Kremlin which is a common stamp from Russia. Another  shows  2 dogs with the earth in the background. I thought it might be the dogs that were sent into space and I was right. The stamp commemorates the 50th anniversary of their space flight. The other stamps shows a soccer/football player. The postcard took 56 (!!!!!!!!!!) days to get here and traveled a distance of 5,859 km.

Postcard #43 - AUSTRIA



I got a postcard from Salzburg, Austria today. Since "The Sound of Music" is my favourite movie and takes place in Salzburg it was really nice to get this card. It shows the Staatsbrücke Bridge  and some buildings. The bridge connects the old town with the new town. There is one stamp on the back of KUNST HAUS WIEN, a museum. The museum is celebrating it's 20th jubilee and that is what the stamp commemorates. It only took 10 days to get here and traveled a distance of 4,778 km.
