Postcard #109 - USA



I got a postcard from New Jersey, USA today. It's a postcard from Japan of a butterfly. There are 9 stamps on the back (the sender apologized for using so many stamps but I think they're neat). There are 2 of a clock, 2 of a Tiffany lamp, 2 of a teapot, 1 of a chair, 1 of the Liberty Bell and 1 which was printed on the postcard, a Japanese stamp. The card took 5 days to get here and traveled 1,866 km.

Postcard #108 - GERMANY



My 3rd postcard today is from Germany. The photo on the postcard is of doors in the city of Kiel and was taken by the person who sent me the card. There are 3 stamps on the back, 1 of a tulip, 1 of a marigold and 1 of Golo Mann, a popular German historian, essayist and writer. The card took 9 days to get here and traveled 4,325 km.

Postcard #107 - BELARUS



The 2nd postcard I got today is from Belarus. It is a painting called "The Smoker" by Joos van Craesbeeck, a Flemish artist. There are 4 stamps on the back, 2 of a hare, 1 of a mink and 1 of flowers (narcissus). The postcard took 19 days to get here and traveled 5,397 km.

Postcard #106 - RUSSIA



I got 3 postcards today, the first is a beautiful photo of the Kremlin (including Saint Basil's Cathedral) at night. There is 1 stamp on the back, I believe it is also of the Kremlin. The card took 19 dys to get here and traveled 5,859 km.

My other card is from Wisconsin, USA. The text on the back reads:

"Wisconsin is our 30th state (1848). Capital: Madison. Has 1,449 miles of inland water and is popular all-season playground. State Fish: Muskellunge. Among the many other things for which it is famous, Wisconsin is America's Dairyland."

There are 2 stamps on the back, 1 of Mother Teresa and another celebrating Jazz. The card took 7 days to get here and traveled  2,891 km.

I got 2 postcards today, the first of a lighthouse and woman at sunset from Finland. There is one cute stamp on the back of snow covered roofs. The postcard took 16 days to get here and traveled 5,072 km.

Sent Postcard #119 - GERMANY

Postcard #103 - NETHERLANDS



My last postcard is from the Netherlands. It's a photo of tulips in a bike's basket. There is 1 typical international stamp on the back. The card got here in 15 days and traveled 4,054 km.

Postcard #102 - CHINA



The 3rd postcard I got today comes from China. It shows Five Flower Lake in Jiuzhaigou Valley, a nature reserve and national park located in the Aba Tibetan Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province, Southwestern China. Five Flower Lake is a shallow multi-colored lake whose bottom is criss-crossed by ancient fallen tree trunks. There are 2 stamps on the back, 1 of a sable (Martes zibellina) and another of a man and woman hugging. The stamp is called "Mutual Love" and is from a  folktale. The card took 25 days to get here and traveled 11,031 km.

Postcard #101 - CZECH REPUBLIC



My 2nd card today is from the Czech Republic, the first postcard I have gotten from there. It shows the postal museum in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. There is one stamp on the back of explorer Alois Musil. The stamp cost 21 Czech Koruna which is about $1.14 CAD. It took 20 days to get here and traveled 4,759 km.

Postcard #100 - FRANCE



I got 4 postcards today and this beautiful card from France in my 100th postcard received through Postcrossing. It's an aerial view showing L'Île de la Cité, an island in the Seine that has the famous church Notre Dame on it. I am hoping to see it myself in the next couple of years! There are 3 stamps on the back, 2 of Marianne and 1 celebrating 50 Years of OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development). The card took 12 days to get here and traveled 3,859 km.
