I got a postcard from Germany today. It shows the train station in Uelzen. The card was sent in an envelope with 3 stamps on the envelope - 2 of flowers and 1 of Max Weber, a German sociologist, philosopher, and political economist. The card took 7 days to get here and traveled 4,386 km.
I got a very cute postcard from Australia today of a mother kangaroo and her joey. There was no stamp on the back other than printed words saying it was a pre-paid postcard. It took 12 days to get here and traveled 18,370 km.
My 2nd card is from the Netherlands. It's a multi-view showing scenes from the city of Helmond. There are 6 stamps on the back - four 10¢ stamps, one 2¢ stamp and one of people playing hockey. The card took 7 days to get here and traveled 4,120 km.
I got 3 postcards today. The first is from Russia and shows a statue. The text reads "Monument: poet and peasant woman". With a bit of Googling I found that it is a monument to poet Alexander Pushkin and his old nurse-maid Arina. There are 3 stamps on the back, all with sports themes. The card took 32 days to get here and traveled 5,235 km.
